Vicious reappears in her life out of the blue, looking hotter than ever. (Present) Skip 10 years forward, Emilia lives in New York with her sister who has cystic fibrosis, running around after 2 jobs trying to scrape enough money together to live on and look after her sister. But even with all the horrible things he does to her, there is an underlying attraction that she cannot shake. Emilia would love to hate him, full stop. He is the ‘leader’ of the foursome the HotHoles at the school, where every male wants to be friends with them and every female wants to sleep with them, which they do with regular gusto!! Vicious thinks Emilia overhead something she shouldn’t have and ultimately ends up driving her away from her family and friends where she now lives. Her first meeting with the Spencer’s son Baron, aka Vicious sets the tone as to how he acts for the rest of the book, a jerk! He goes out of his way to make her life as miserable as sin. (Past) Emilia LeBlanc (then aged 17) arrives at the massive Spencer mansion with her parents, who have been taken on as servants in the household. This is told in a dual POV and goes from past to present and vice versa, but does so very well, flowing with the story.
This is my first book by LJ Shen, and certainly wont’t be the last after reading this one – in fact I’ve already lined up another couple already on the strength of this read – which was wickedly fantastic!!
